Why Gold Medal?
Time Sheet and Personal Record Keeper:

Creating excitement about racing and understanding improvements in swimming can be accomplished by tracking swim times. There is a form available on our website that can be used during the racing season, ribbon books are available for purchase in Gold Medal’s retail area, or create a ribbon board or wall in your home to track personal best times.

What to Expect at a Start Clinic:

Our FREE Dive Clinics are a great opportunity to gain experience and improve racing starts! Swimmers learn how to dive from either the side of the pool or the starting block.

No fees are required for Dive Clinics; however, pre-registration is required. Spots are limited and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. You may register for Dive Clinics online using this form, at the front desk, or at (480) 961-SWIM (7946).

Dive Clinics are offered once a month, February through October. Dive Clinics are held on Saturday afternoons and usually consist of 30 minutes of dive practice and 15 minutes of swim racing.

Dive Clinics are held at either the Chandler High School pool or the McClintock High School pool, depending on pool availability. Dive Clinics are not held at Gold Medal Swim School.

The date and location of upcoming Dive Clinics are listed in Swim Team Newsletters, posted on the Swim Team Calendar, and included in the slideshow in the GMSS lobby approximately 2 to 3 weeks in advance.

Swimmers enrolled in Swim Team 1, Swim Team 2, Swim Team 3, or High School Prep are encouraged to attend Dive Clinics. Swimmers enrolled in Summer Swim Team are welcome to attend in June and July.

If your swimmer is new to Swim Team, or has not completed 300 or more inverted (head-first) dives from the side of the pool, they should attend Session I, the New Diver Clinic.

If your swimmer has completed more than 300 dives, or can dive from the blocks, they should attend Session II, the Returning Diver Clinic.

If you are unsure which Dive Clinic to attend, please ask your coach or the Competitive Department Leader.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to stay, watch, and cheer for their swimmer in the grass or spectator areas during Dive Clinics. Gold Medal coaches are happy to answer parent/guardian questions before or after Dive Clinics but reserve the Dive Clinic itself for coach’s instruction.

Parent/guardian volunteers are needed to assist with timing during the 15-minute Time Trial at the end of each Dive Clinic. No experience is necessary.
