The original Gold Medal Swim School was founded in Chandler, Arizona by Double Olympic Gold Medalist and former Navy Seal Michael F. Troy. The first school opened in 1995 with 16 children and Olympic size dreams. In the spring of 2006 Mike Troy partnered with two time Olympic coach Mike Walker to form the NEW Gold Medal Swim School and opened the current location at 6909 West Ray Road #27 Chandler. | Mike Troy is a double Olympic Gold Medalist, world record holder, and an NCAA and an AAU Champion. Mike has been inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame, as well as the Indiana University Hall of Fame, and the Helms Arco Hall of Fame. He is a teacher, a mentor, and an inspiration to all those who admire his dedication to the sport he has loved since the age of 8. Read more |
Two time Olympic Coach Mike Walker comes to the newGold Medal Swim School with fifteen years of collegiate coaching and fifteen years of competitive swimming including three varsity years swimming at Arizona State University. In July of 2005, Mike Walker decided it was time to make a change in his career, to get back to grass roots swimming and to allow his passion for swimming to influence children’s discovery of the joy of water.
