Where in the World is Gold Medal?

Gold Medal swimmers and their families travel to so many amazing and interesting places, family vacations, etc.....  Let's share our travels with one another and submit pictures of ourselves outfitted in our favorite GMSS gear with a few sentences describing the picture and location and perhaps even an interesting thought related to the trip.  Travels will be included in the monthly esplash with photos and descriptions available on our Swim School web site.

Why Choose Swimming?
Here's why:

1.  Swimming is a life saving skill and life enjoyment activity.

2.  Swimming through the "Dolphin" level (fundamental swimming) is like learning math...you may not need to become Olympic champion or a Nobel prize winner but fundamental skills are necessary regardless if, at the time, we enjoy them.

3.  Swimming is enjoyed as a social activity, and if you are not a relaxed and strong swimmer, activities like going to the beach, snorkeling, sailing, deep-sea fishing, and surfing are stressful or even impossible.

4. There's virtually no limit to the possibilities of swimming. Swimming skills are particularly important to learn as children, when exercise and activity, as well as social interaction, are crucial to development. Swimming is one of the few exercises that you can take part in your whole life...learning takes time and resources but project the cost out over a child's life and weigh the cost vs. benefits. Swimming is an investment.

The Gold Medal Swim School believes that swimming should be FUNdamental for children 3 months and beyond.  No matter the age, it is never to late to learn.  YES, all ages and ability levels can be taught to swim relaxed and comfortably.
Pre Competitive Programing Redesigned

Summer programs are coming to an end but the fun at GMSS is just beginning!

The Gold Medal Swim School "Shark" squad has been renamed Pre Competitive Swim Team.  This is to more clearly communicate the three part process at GMSS that builds up to year round United States Swimming registered competitive swimming.

Additionally, the Gold Medal Swim School "Fall Swim Team" squad has been renamed Competitive Swim Team.  This clarifies the 10 month season for the "Competitive Swim Team" program.  This team is the the second tier of the three part process. The Competitive Swim Team will train and compete August-May.  Swimmers can enroll in Summer Swim Team OR try the GMSS Pre Elite program during the summer months.

Please speak with your coach in the Fall and Spring for specific details and the appropriate squad for each swimmer.
Also, a series of swim meets for a GMSS Pre Competitive and Competitive Swim Teams have been added.  These competitive meets will be on Friday evenings and are scheduled for two hours.  Meet information can be found online under specific program information.
