West Chandler Directions

The Gold Medal Swim School High School Prep Swim Team begins November 1^st, 2010 and is open to any athlete 13 years old (8^th grade) or older.   All swimmers must be able to swim 50 yards of Freestyle and Backstroke and have a desire to improve swimming skills and fitness for the upcoming High School season.  The team will balance stroke technique, swimming workouts, and a positive team atmosphere.   This group is a great opportunity to get in shape for next high school season, do some low key offseason racing, and have fun with your peers, while improving your technique and fitness.

Practices: All practices will be held at West Chandler Aquatic Center (West side of Kyrene & half mile South of Chandler Blvd) 250 South Kyrene Road Chandler, Arizona 85226.  This is a heated (80 degrees) 8 lane 25 yard outdoor pool.  Locker rooms and showers are available on site. Coaches work with swimmers in and out of the water at a 20 swimmers: 1 coach ratio.

Practice schedule: Swim practices are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 4:00- 5:30 PM.

Equipment required: Equipment is not required for the High School prep program.  We do suggest the following:  Goggles, pair of fins, and a competitive swimming front mounted snorkel (available at the Gold Medal Swim School retail store).

Price: $126.00 monthly/swimmer plus an annual registration fee, GMSS $30. No credit or make ups will be given for missed practice time.  There is no prorating for traditional Gold Medal Swim School holiday closures.

Meets: Swimmers are encouraged to attend Gold Medal Swim School scheduled swim meets.  Meets are 1x month excluding December, January, and February.  Swim meets, including unlimited events and any earned ribbons, are an additional $12.00/meet.

Pre-registration is required by the preceding Tuesday online, Meet Registration.  Meet fees are auto billed to your account.

Meets are held at McClintock High School in Tempe on November 6^th, March 25^th and April 22^nd.  Meets will be from 5:30 – 7:30 PM with warm- ups beginning at 4:30 PM.  The championship meet will be held on May 14^th from 9:00 – 11:00 AM with warm ups beginning at 8:00 AM.
