Pre Elite Swim Team-Information

  

The Pre Elite group is designed for swimmers looking to make the transition from seasonal swimming to year round competitive swimming.  The Pre Elite group uses “training” and teaching to develop and reinforce the fundamentals of technically sound swimming and racing techniques.  Additionally, Pre Elite focuses on proper training habits, team unity, and the development of personal confidence.

Equipment required: Goggles, competitive swimming front mounted snorkel, and a pair of “positive drive swim fins” (These items are available at the Gold Medal retail store).

Price: $150.00 per month. Includes: 20 swimmers: 1 coach ratio, 3 x 1:15 minute practices, and 1 x 1:15 morning technique class.  Coaches work with swimmers from the pool deck and in the water.

Practice schedule: Swim practices are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The schedule and practice times are noted below.  The schedule variances are due to the high school swim season.  Technique classes are held 1x per week on Thursday morning from 5:30 – 6:45 AM.  Pre-enrollment for technique is required.  Students are permitted to leave early for scheduling conflicts.

Beginning, June 1,  practices will be at Chandler High School Pool (4:30 - 5:45 pm)

Meets: Swimmers are encouraged to attend Gold Medal Swim School Swim League meets.  The cost for swim meets, including up to four events and any earned ribbons, is an additional $12.00/meet.

Pre-registration is required by the Tuesday preceding the meet and available online, Meet Registration.  Meet fees are auto billed to your account.

Pre Elite enrollment requirements:

1.  A passion and desire to swim at a competitive level.

2.  Ability to swim the four strokes at an advanced level.

3.  Commitment to attend 75% of the technique sessions and 50% of the training sessions.

4.  Willingness to be part of a team.

5.  Swimming workout requirements:

  • Swim 7 x 100 yd IM on 2:30 interval
  • Kick 2 x 50 yard underwater with fins (breathing at the wall) on 2:30 interval
  • Swim 200 yards continuously
  • Swim 1000 yards (40 laps) in one workout
