Strength and Conditioning Coach Tim McClellan

Tim McClellan joins the Gold Medal Swim Club as the new Strength and Conditioning Coach.  McClellan will coordinate all aspects of the strength and conditioning program for the club. He comes to GMSC with 28 years of professional coaching experience and his experience includes supporting Olympic Gold Medalists in 8 different sports.

Most recently, McClellan served as the strength and conditioning coach for Gary Hall Jr.s “The Race Club” where he prepared elite swimmers for the 2004 Olympics Games.  

Prior to that, 
McClellan was instrumental in developing the strength and conditioning program for the Phoenix Swim Club Olympic Team. He constructed strength programming protocols, dryland aerobic circuits, mobility programs and dryland/pool conditioning programs. The overall program was featured in Swimming Technique Magazine. 

McClellan started a total strength and conditioning program for both the Men and Women’s Swim Teams at Arizona State University. He constructed and supervised the programs from 1984 to 1995.

McClellan received a Master’s in Science from Arizona State University.  He is passionate about martial arts with personal accomplishments including Black Belts in Wado-Ryu, Judo, Ju-Jitsu, Sombo, and Shotokan Karate.
