Gold Medal Swim School summer swim team is open to any child able to swim 25 yards of Freestyle and Backstroke without assistance, along with the basic knowledge of Breaststroke and Butterfly. This will include Gold Medal Swim School swimmers in the Stingray level and above. Our summer swim team coaches will balance stroke technique, swimming workouts, and a positive team atmosphere to create a program suited for various ages and skill levels. Come join the FUN.


Practices: All practices will be held at our school location; 6909 West Ray Road Suite #27, Chandler, AZ. Our indoor pool has five competitive lanes to provide the best possible learning environment for your child. We guarantee a coach to swimmer ratio of 10:1.


Dates, days, and times: Practices begin Thursday June 1st and continue through Thursday July 21st, 2011. Monday through Thursday practice times are for one hour beginning at 7:55 am OR 12:50 pm OR 1:50 PM OR 7:05 pm OR 8:05 pm. Meets are held on Saturdays. In order to provide the optimal coaching to student ratios, you may not change practice times once enrolled.


Equipment: We believe that swim fins, goggles and a swim team suit are extremely helpful for your child’s skill development. These items are available for purchase in our retail area but are not required.

Clinic: Included in the price of the summer swim team will be a one hour clinic with Olympic Gold Medalist, Mike Troy, and/or Olympic Coach, Mike Walker.

Swim Meets: Each Saturday, the summer swim team will compete in the East Valley Swim League under the Gold Medal Swim School Team name. Children 8 and under will swim 25 yards of each stroke. Children 9 and older will swim 50 yards of each stroke. All meets will be held on Saturday mornings with warm-ups at 7 am and a meet start time of 7:30 am.  There will not be relays or disqualifications; all strokes will be available to swim at every meet.  The stroke order is Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Freestyle.  Ribbons will be awarded for all lanes at each heat.  Ages are determined as of June 1, 2011.


Cost: $224 per swimmer: Fee includes Gold Medal Swim School team shirt, Olympic clinic, competitive swim meets, an average of four workouts per week, end of season award, and swim team party held at our Chandler location. No credit or make ups will be given for missed practice time or missed swim meets. Current Gold Medal Swim School students need not pay annual registration fee.
