The Gold Medal Swim School summer swim team-Maricopa is open to any child able to swim 25 yards of Freestyle and Backstroke without assistance, along with the basic knowledge of Breaststroke and Butterfly. Our summer swim team coaches will balance stroke technique, swimming workouts, and a positive team atmosphere to create a program suited for various ages and skill levels. Come join the FUN.

Dates: Practices begin Tuesday June 1, 2010 through Thursday July 22, 2010. 

Practices: All practices will be held at the Rotary Park Pool.

Dates, days, and times: Practices are four days per week and begin Tuesday June 1, 2010 through Thursday July 22, 2010.  Adv-Int  swim M/T/TH/F (7:30–8:45 am).  Beginners swim M/T/TH/F (7:45-8:45AM).   **All swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted.  If you are unsure which level your child should enroll in please speak with a Gold Medal staff member for placement help. Children not able to swim 25 yards will be directed into the swim lesson program.

Coaches: The Maricopa Swim Team will include: Head Coach Ed Goldstein, Asst. Coach Braden Apana, and Asst. Coach Rachel Turner.

Equipment: We believe that swim fins, goggles and a swim team suit are extremely helpful for your child’s skill development and help with the swim team experience. These items are available for purchase in our retail area but are not required.

Clinic: Included in the price of the summer swim team will be a one hour clinic (June 29, 2010) with Olympic Gold Medalist, Mike Troy, and or Olympic Coach, Mike Walker. 

Swim Meets: Each Saturday our summer swim team will compete in the East Valley Swim League under the Gold Medal Swim School Team name. Children 8 and under will swim 25 yards of each stroke. Children 9 and older will swim 50 yards of each stroke. Ages are determined as of June 1^st, 2010. Maps will be provided for all swim meet locations.  See link for each swim meet.

Cost: $120.00 per swimmer, This program is sponsored by the Maricopa Rotary and the City of Maricopa.  The fee includes Gold Medal Swim School team shirt, Olympic clinic, 7 competitive swim meets, 4 workouts per week, end of season award, and swim team party held at our Chandler location. No credit or make ups will be given for missed practice time or missed swim meets. No annual registration fee is required for Maricopa residents.
