SUMMER SWIM TEAM - Chandler
The Gold Medal Swim School summer swim team is open to any child able to swim 25 yards of Freestyle and Backstroke without assistance, along with the basic knowledge of Breaststroke and Butterfly. Our amazing coaches will balance stroke technique, swimming workouts, and a positive team atmosphere to create a program suited for all ages and skill levels. Come join the FUN.
Practices: All practices will be held at our school location; 6909 West Ray Road Suite #27, Chandler, AZ. Our in ground, indoor pool has five competitive lanes to provide the best possible learning environment for your child. We guarantee a coach to swimmer ratio of 10:1.
Dates, days, and times: Practices begin Monday, June 2nd and continue through Thursday, July 24th, 2008. Monday through Thursday practice times are from 7:45—8:45 am OR 1:45-2:45 pm, OR 7:00-8:00 pm. Meets are held on Saturdays. In order to provide the optimal coaching to student ratios you may not change practice times once enrolled.
Equipment: We believe that swim fins, goggles and team suit are extremely helpful for your child’s skill development. These items are available for purchase in our retail area but are not required.
Clinic: Included in the price of the summer swim team will be a one hour clinic with Olympic Gold Medalist, Mike Troy, and or Olympic Coach, Mike Walker.
Swim Meets: Each Saturday our two summer swim teams (Chandler and Maricopa) will compete in the East Valley Swim League under the Gold Medal Swim School Team name. Children 8 and under will swim 25 yards of each stroke. Children 9 and older will swim 50 yards of each stroke. Ages are determined as of June 1st, 2008. Please refer to the meet schedule below. Maps will be provided for all swim meet locations.

Meets will be announced the first week in April.
Parent Orientation: We will offer a parent swim team orientation on May 29th, 2008. Come gather information about our coaching philosophy, summer schedule, and team events. Head Coach Matt Olschner and owners Mike Troy and Mike Walker will be on hand to answer any questions.
Cost: $199 per child. This fee includes Gold Medal Swim School team shirt, swim cap, Gold Medal Swim School towel, Olympic clinic, seven meets, four workouts per week, end of season award, and swim team party held on July 26th at our Chandler location. No credit or make ups will be given for missed practice time or missed swim meets. Current Gold Medal Swim School student need not pay annual registration fee.
