Dear Gold Medal Swim School families,
It is with the deepest sorrow we inform you that Gold Medal Swim Founder, Olympic Champion, Navy Seal and dear friend, Mike Troy has passed away early this morning at the age of 78.
Mike founded Gold Medal Swim School over 20 years ago with just a few kids, a small pool and a big dream....”everyone should learn to swim”. He connected with children and adults through his love of swimming and people.
While his military, swimming, and coaching career are that of legends, what those closest to him will remember most fondly was his willingness to give of himself for an honorable cause, his ability to tell an amazing story guaranteed to make you laugh, and of course his famous saying, “Who loves ya? Mike Troy loves you!”
Please take a moment to celebrate the life of Mike Troy and all that he has done to impact so many people.
Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family and his wonderful wife Suzanne who was at his side throughout and until the end.
