Updated Health and Safety Standards

We passionately believe in teaching the lifesaving skill of swimming and are committed to doing whatever we can to reduce the risk of spreading the Covid-19 virus. Listed below are the steps we are taking to be the safest and best swim school possible for your family. We are always willing to listen to any and all suggestions you may have for our company.

For your health and safety we have modified the Gold Medal Swim School customer experience according to the guidelines set out by the Governor.

Precautions

  • All Gold Medal Swim School staff members will be masked while working, including instructors while teaching in the water.
  • We continue to use both chlorine and OZONE sanitation which has a 99.99% effective ‘kill rate’ of viruses and bacteria in our pool.
  • The Gold Medal Swim School uses an industry leading heating, cooling, and dehumidification system from ADDISON. The BIG bonus to this unit is that it does not recirculate the pool air. The Addison system pumps out air and ONLY brings in new FRESH air to be conditioned and dehumidified to provide THE safest and most comfortable pool environment possible. We have been using this type of system since our opening in 2008.
  • All students and caregivers will enter and exit at the newly designated areas. Class times for drop-off and pick-up are now staggered to maintain distance of at least 6 feet between people who don’t live together. Baby Swim and Learn to Swim classes will run 25 minutes with a 5-minute transition time. Boot Camps, Adult, and Swim Team classes will run for 55 minutes with a 5-minute transition time.

Keeping You Safe

  • We have implemented symptom screening of staff AND guests through temperature checks upon arrival.
  • All teaching equipment use has been reduced and the sharing of equipment is prohibited unless it is sanitized between uses. We have ceased the sharing of items that are difficult to clean, sanitize, or disinfect or that are meant to come in contact with the face (for example, goggles and snorkels).
  • The following areas have been closed to lower the amount of frequently touched areas: Retail check-in, playroom, and shower area.

Social Distancing

  • All swim teams run socially distanced with use of safety steps. We have cancelled all competitive swim team meets to avoid large gatherings of people.
  • All families are asked to limit nonessential visitors, as lobby seating has been reduced and chairs are spaced with CDC and government suggested distancing of 6 feet apart. Located in a basket under each chair: Hand sanitizer, disinfecting spray (CDC-approved to kill COVID-19), and paper towels to clean your chair before sitting down.

Staff Expectations

  • All staff members are expected to do the following:
  • Pass a temperature check prior to the beginning of the work shift.
  • All Administrative and Deck Staff members will sanitize their hands every 20 minutes.
  • Wear a mask upon entering the building and while working all shifts.
  • Notify a supervisor if they are not feeling well.
  • Pool staff will have uniforms washed between each shift.

Client Expectations

  • We request the following of our clients so we can be as safe as possible TOGETHER:
  • All guests over the age of 11 years are required to wear a mask upon entering the building, in accordance with city and county ordinances.
  • Use hand sanitizer prior to entering the facility and once seated in the lobby.
  • As much as possible, please leave personal belongings in your car to lower the amount of contact points in the lobby.
